Dabie Bomaye Is Back on the Road, So Make Way for Roadman 2

An article by Kojo Bonsamposuro

Four years is a long time in the trenches. Back in 2022, when Dabie Bomaye dropped the original Roadman, it gave us a raw look at the grind. Time changes your perspective, though, and if you thought Dabie was going to ease up, his new record proves you dead wrong. Roadman 2, featuring fellow Tema boy AraTheJay, drops on November 5, 2026 as the lead single off Dabie’s upcoming self-titled tape, Dabie Bomaye, which follows a week later on November 12.

Don’t expect the glossy, romanticized “trapper” aesthetic that gets plastered all over social media. This is what a day on the actual road looks like for a young Black artist dealing with the pressure, the risks, and the invisible daily work of making something out of nothing. It’s also about the small wins that never hit the headlines, told with the street-honest clarity of someone who has lived it.

What makes Roadman 2 hit different is how it brings the two artistes’ perspectives together. Ara gets far more than a quick guest verse here. He adds his signature faith-based style to the song. Afterall, every trapper needs the Lord’s grace to make it through the cold, dark streets of Tema. Listening to them together on the same song feels less like a traditional feature and more like an unfiltered conversation between two guys who have walked the exact same asphalt. Compared to what we heard four years ago, Dabie’s voice is more mature, the sound is much bigger, and the bars hit you harder.

Dabie already has four EPs under his belt, and he’s still not trying to manufacture an image. He’s sharpening his pen, telling his story, and building a series his core fans are going to respect. If this single is any indication of what’s waiting on Dabie Bomaye when it lands on November 12, I think we’re looking at one of the most uncompromising hip-hop releases of the year. I cannot wait to hear what this tape has for us. Keep your eyes locked on his socials, because the road is about to get a whole lot busier.
