M.ANIFEST RELEASES ‘HANDKERCHIEF” – A LO-FI HIGHLIFE SUMMER GROOVE

Mass Appeal recording artist M.anifest returns with “HANDKERCHIEF,” his second release of the summer. Widely regarded as one of Africa’s most celebrated lyricists, the award-winning rapper continues to push the boundaries of African Hip-Hop with a warm, infectious record that blends Highlife and Hip-Hop through a fresh sonic lens.

The single arrives alongside a short film directed by Kwartengg, one of Ghana’s most exciting emerging multi-hyphnates, whose vibrant direction complements the song’s relaxed summer feel.

The title draws inspiration from the handkerchief’s enduring role in Ghanaian social life and celebrations. “Growing up Ghanaian the HANDKERCHIEF aka ‘Hanky’ existed in ubiquity”  M.anifest says. “ I recall being always aware of its multipurpose cultural traits…it certainly did more than wipe sweat.”
